中文熱詞通常反映社會(huì)變化和文化，有些在外國(guó)媒體上愈來愈流行。例如，土豪和大媽都是老詞，但已獲取了新的意義。土豪以前指欺壓佃戶和仆人的鄉(xiāng)村地主，現(xiàn)在用于指花錢如流水或喜歡炫耀財(cái)富的人，也就是說，土豪有錢，但是沒有品位。大媽是對(duì)中年婦女的稱呼，但是現(xiàn)在特指不久前金價(jià)大跌時(shí)大量購(gòu)買黃金的中國(guó)婦女。土豪和大媽可能會(huì)被收入新版的牛津（Oxford）英語(yǔ)詞典，至今約有120中文加進(jìn)了牛津英語(yǔ)詞典，成了英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的一部分。

The Chinese hot words usually reflect the social changes andculture, some of which are increasingly popular with foreign media.For example, tuhao and dama are old words, but they are given newmeanings.

Tuhao used to mean the rural landlords oppressing the tenantfarmers and servants, but now they relate to individuals who lavishand flash money about. In other words, tuhao are wealthy buttasteless. Dama referred to middle-aged women. Instead, itparticularly means Chinese women who purchased bulk gold shortlybefore the gold price decreased.

Tuhao and dama may be included in a new-edition Oxforddictionary. Until now, about 120 Chinese words have been added intoit and they also have become a part of English language.

2014年6月的六級(jí)試卷中，“土豪”“大媽”驚現(xiàn)江湖。土豪這個(gè)詞霸氣華麗牛x哄哄的，針對(duì)它的翻譯也是一籮筐。首先，今天下午很多機(jī)智的考生，使用拼音來翻譯“土豪”和“大媽”，是可以接受的。

1.newly rich：新富；暴發(fā)戶

2.upstart：柯林斯高階詞典的解釋是You can refer to someone as an upstartwhen they behave as if they are important, but you think that theyare too new in a place or job to be treated as important.翻譯成中文就是暴發(fā)戶、新貴的意思，還可以指傲慢自負(fù)的人，這個(gè)詞還有形容詞詞性，翻譯為暴富的；自命不凡的，傲慢無禮的

3.provincial tycoon：provincialadj.省的，地方的的意思，也引申為鄉(xiāng)下的、粗野的、鄙俗的意思；tycoon大亨的意思。地方上的大亨！這是在地域上定義土豪！

4.vulgar tycoon：If you describe something as vulgar, youthink it is in bad taste or of poor artistic quality.vulgar是指粗俗的；庸俗的；俗氣的；不雅的。提供這一譯文的朋友是多么憎惡仇視土豪啊！

6.Beverly Hillbillies：很洋氣的翻譯。BeverlyHillbillies是一部很搞笑的喜劇電影片名，音譯為《貝弗利山鄉(xiāng)巴佬》，BeverlyHills是好萊塢富豪云集的比華利山莊，Hillbillies是“土包子”的意思，合在一起就是聚集在豪華山莊的土包子們！

7. richrednecks：redneck是“紅脖子”的意思，在美國(guó)南方，沒文化的老土常被人稱為redneck，再加上有錢（rich），大概也就是土豪了吧！
